The goal of the Communications Department is to provide timely and accurate information and enhance awareness of our districts's objectives and initiatives to personnel, parents, and members of the Lake Forest community. Announcements of regularly scheduled school and district events and other special activities appear in the school and district email announcements (e-newsletters), and on the district and school websites. Local news sources (both print and online) also carry stories about our schools and district.

Submitting News and Photos

If you would like to promote any school-related news, such as an activity, event, or recognition, please email Janice Patterson to submit your information. Please remember to include the following information:

• Who is it about?
• What happened?
• Where did it take place?
• When did it take place?
• Why did it happen?

Please note the following deadlines:

— Media Sources: two weeks in advance for print; one week for online soures
— Staff Newsletter: submit by Tuesday for that week's issue

— School E-newsletters: submit by Tuesday for that week's issue

Digital pictures are welcome and encouraged!

If you are providing digital pictures, please include the same information requested above (Who, What, Where, When, Why). It is not necessary to include the names of students photographed, unless the photo was taken for an award or special recognition. In that case, the full name of the student will NOT be used on the websites but can be included in e-newsletters and forwarded to local media sources. Otherwise please provide the school, grade level, and name of teacher or advisor.

* Photographs and videos of students and staff are taken throughout the year to be used for the district website, e-newsletters, newspapers (both print and online editions), and other District 67 publicity purposes. The use of District 67 photographs for commercial or endorsement purposes is prohibited. Lake Forest Cable TV films various events for local viewing. If you do not want your child photographed or videotaped for District 67 use, you must submit, in writing, a statement to the Superintendent of Schools.
