KINDERGARTEN MANDARIN IMMERSION PROGRAM

REGISTRATION 2012-2013

District 67 offers an optional multi-year Mandarin Immersion Program for parents that want their children to develop bilingual proficiency in a second language. This tuition-based program is open to all incoming kindergarteners that live within the District 67 school boundaries and are five years old on or before September 1, 2012. Kindergarteners in the Mandarin program will attend Cherokee Elementary School, but will maintain their neighborhood school status.

The Extended-Day Mandarin Immersion Program offers daily instruction in both English and Mandarin in the same curricular areas as the Half- and Extended-Day Programs. Detailed information about Kindergarten Registration can be found on our website.

A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 toward the tuition is due at the time of enrollment for parents registered for the Mandarin program. Tuition for 2011-12 was $4,800.00. The tuition for 2012-13 will be determined by the Board of Education in the spring.
