District 67 Schools Honored with Academic Excellence Award
All District 67 schools have received an Academic Excellence Award from the Illinois State Board of Education in recognition of their exemplary performance on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test for three consecutive years.

Cherokee, Sheridan and Everett Elementary Schools, and Deer Path Middle School were among only 459 schools statewide that received the Academic Excellence Award for 2010 by sustaining high performance levels on state assessments for at least three years. To earn an Academic Excellence Award, schools must meet the following criteria:

Schools must have made Adequate Yearly Progress in 2009 and 2010 as required by No Child Left Behind.
In schools serving grades 8 and below, 90 percent of students must have met or exceeded state standards in both reading and mathematics for the three most recent school years.
