Superintendent Search

Dr. Harry Griffith, Superintendent of Schools for Lake Forest Elementary District 67 and Lake Forest High School announced his retirement, effective June 2012. Dr. Griffith has served our Districts with distinction, and we are grateful to him for the significant accomplishments during his tenure in our community.

The Boards of Education for D67 and D115 will be looking for a new superintendent who will again serve both districts through their Shared Service initiative. Our school boards have contracted with School Exec Connect, an educational search firm, to assist in finding a new superintendent. Dr. David Clough and Dr. Linda Hanson will serve as our advisors to assist us with this search.

Dr. Clough and Dr. Hanson conducted focus groups with staff and parents to determine the desired profile for our next superintendent and presented the focus group and survey findings (see documents below) to the District 67 Board of Education at the meeting on March 22, 2011.

After a comprehensive, 2-year superintendent search process, the Boards of Education are in the final phase. Last week, 40 of our school community members (staff, parents, and community members) - along with all 14 members of the District 67 and 115 Boards of Education met in teams to interview the final 4 candidates for the Superintendent position.

It is anticipated that the Board of Education for both school districts will announce their selection in February. The new Superintendent will begin effective July 1, 2012.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our interview teams. Many thanks for your time and thoughtful input!
