Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year
We are fortunate that our teachers realize the value of professional development opportunities. Each year, District 67 teachers and administrators participate in a variety of activities to expand and refine our skills and keep abreast of best practices in education.
In addition to school and district level committee and curriculum work, our staff readily engages in workshops, courses, seminars, etc. Examples of the activities that some of our Everett staff members have engaged in so far this school year are:
The above list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Many Everett teachers are also achieving advanced degrees through universities, working to become National Board Certified Teachers, and some even teach University classes! Additionally, we try hard to build in collaborative opportunities for staff members to share their knowledge and information with one another (e.g., during Monday's early release times).
Our teachers are excited about learning and always strive to improve their craft. We are glad that we work in a district that encourages and supports our professional endeavors. We feel strongly that our students benefit from highly qualified and well-trained educators.
